Before You Delete
Important Considerations
⚠️ Account deletion is permanent after the grace period
Before proceeding, consider:
- ✅ Export your data - Download all notes first
- ✅ Cancel Premium - Avoid future charges
- ✅ Review alternatives - Maybe just take a break?
- ✅ Check backups - Ensure you have copies
Alternatives to Deletion
Instead of deleting, you could:
Option 1: Export and Pause
- Export all your notes
- Stop using the app
- Keep account for future use
- No cost for Free tier
Option 2: Downgrade to Free
- Cancel Premium subscription
- Keep up to 20 notes
- No ongoing costs
- Maintain your data
Option 3: Clean Slate
- Delete all notes manually
- Keep the account
- Start fresh when ready
Deletion Process
How to Request Deletion
- Go to Profile (click avatar → Profile)
- Scroll to bottom - Find "Delete Account" section
- Click "Delete Account" button
- Review warning - Read carefully
- Select reason (optional but helpful)
- Provide feedback (optional)
- Confirm deletion - Type your email to confirm
- Submit request
What Happens Next
Immediately:
- ✅ Deletion scheduled for 30 days from now
- ✅ Confirmation email sent
- ✅ Banner appears in app
- ✅ Account marked for deletion
During Grace Period (30 days):
- ✅ Full access to all notes
- ✅ Can export data
- ✅ Can cancel deletion anytime
- ⚠️ Cannot create new notes
- ⚠️ Cannot upgrade to Premium
After 30 Days:
- ❌ Account permanently deleted
- ❌ All notes removed
- ❌ All connections deleted
- ❌ All tags removed
- ❌ Cannot be recovered
Grace Period (30 Days)
Why 30 Days?
The grace period gives you time to:
- Change your mind
- Export your data
- Find alternative solutions
- Ensure this is what you want
What You Can Do
During the 30-day grace period:
✅ Read notes - Full access ✅ Search - Find information ✅ Export data - Download everything ✅ Cancel deletion - Change your mind ✅ Use existing features - Normal access
❌ Create notes - Blocked ❌ Edit notes - Read-only ❌ Upgrade - Not available
Canceling Deletion
Changed your mind? Easy!
- Click the banner at top of app
- Or go to Profile → Deletion section
- Click "Cancel Deletion"
- Confirm cancellation
Your account is immediately restored to normal.
What Gets Deleted
Permanently Removed
When deletion completes, we remove:

- URLs and metadata
- Titles and summaries
- Creation dates

- AI-generated links
- Similarity scores
- Explanations

- Your custom tags

- Profile information

- Preferences

- Payment history
- Billing information
✅ Authentication
- Your Supabase auth account
- Login credentials
What We Keep
For legal and operational reasons, we retain:
📋 Support tickets - Anonymized, for quality improvement 📋 Billing records - Required for tax/accounting (7 years) 📋 Aggregate analytics - No personal identification
Note: Retained data cannot identify you personally.

How to Export
- Go to Profile
- Click "Export All Notes"
- Download JSON file
- Save securely - Multiple locations recommended

Options:
- Import to Notion, Obsidian, etc.
- Convert to Markdown files
- Store in cloud (Google Drive, Dropbox)
- Keep local backup
- Print important notes
Subscription Considerations
If You Have Premium
Before deleting:

- Avoid charges during grace period
- Get prorated refund if applicable

- Access continues until period ends

- Premium too expensive
- Don't need unlimited notes

Privacy-related:
- Data privacy concerns
- Want to minimize digital footprint

Other:
- No longer needed
- Switching to different system
- Just trying it out

Q: Can I recover my account after 30 days? A: No. After the grace period, deletion is permanent and irreversible.
